How we create our collections

We already told you a lot here about photoshoots and premieres of new collections – because these are the most important days for us and they are always a lot of different emotions there. However, in fact, the photoshoot is practically the very end of the process of creating a new collection, and the premiere is just the icing on the cake. The most difficult and time-consuming parts takes place months before the premiere.

Creating a collection is a process that is one of our best-kept secrets ... It's hard not to spill the beans or show you something sooner, because we are always very very excited and in love with the new collection!

But as we promised you HERE - we want to be closer to you and reveal to you a little more details from our world, so watch out and read carefully, because today we will tell you a little bit about the collection, which premiere will be in August this year.

Did we mentioned before that we love our photoshoots?

1. Inspiration

Each of our collections is inspired by what we love, i.e. discovering the world, new places (not always those that actually exist), new games and new friends. Sometimes we take you to places we know well - such as in the Woods Gang or Farmlife collections (who remembers those?). And sometimes we take you to places that we really want to visit, or that we have managed to see - such as in the Sands of Morocco or Trip to Peru collection. It cannot be denied that sometimes, as in the In My Dreams collection, we take you to completely non-obvious places. It will be similar this time.

Our next adventure will be inspired by the journeys we have taken, but more than the places we saw, we focused on the experiences and delights we experienced there. Tastes, smells, views ... These are real works of art that we had the pleasure to see around us and that we want to show you.

2. Designing

Now that we have the main theme of the collection, it's time to design prints! This is the part we love! Our talented illustrator creates prints, which we then check, correct, change, create fifty (maybe a bit less) color versions of them all and finally, when we have all the designs in front of our eyes, we start to discuss.

And here it begins ... Maybe more animals, or maybe we will add something here, or maybe we will subtract something here, or maybe the print on a green background and the other one on a blue background? Or maybe both on blue? Or maybe nobody will like it and we should completely change the whole project?

3. Sample production

This is when the magic happens… First products are finally made from the flat drawings seen so far only on the computer screen. Although before the products are created, we get the magic material with printed patterns that we have chosen (the so-called test print). It helps us check whether the colors are as beautiful as on the computer screen and then we choose the color of the zips and other datails, so all match perfectly with the rest.

Our sewing house is doing something pretty amazing! We'll show you more one day - we promise!

In the end, all decisions are already made and then the knitting, embroidery, printing, sewing room takes the matter into their own hands, and our telephone is one big hotline with asking (often begging :)), explaining why we care about time (and why ALWAYS we don't have enough of it), solving problems, creating a plan B (it never exists, don't believe us. Everything has to work out according to plan A.), getting along with the couriers and logistics filling our days to the hour.

4. Final Choice

For some, the most disliked part - because how to choose from, for example, 27 prints, which of them will appear on hoodies and which will appear on sweatshirts with on t-shirts, which on a dress, which on a skirt, etc. ... Sounds like a horror movie? It is a bit like that.

Friendships, marriages and all other relationships among our team go through a difficult test, because everyone has their favorite print that they would like to see on the bomber, sweatshirt, dress, trousers and leggings ... just everywhere. Then usually one of the us (we won’t say who) has to play the role of a bad cop and bring order. After numerous discussions, a million arguments, ideas and liters of tears (well, there are no tears, although our heart often breaks when we have to reject something), finally - we have it! Only - will you like it?

Oh yes, coffee is one of the most important elements of the process of creating a new collection - we would not be able to do it without it! And so, sometimes to release our emotions, we play games (or we have to do it when someone is sick and is not in  kindergarten and this is the only way to be able to work for a while - decide for yourself what is true). 

5. Photoshoot and small amendments

Everything has already been said about our photoshoots - it's a real rollercoaster!

Although without them it wouldn’t be possible to introduce the collection, and above all, they are a huge test for us. This is when it turns out whether the new shape fits properly, if nothing slips off, or does not tuck up where it shouldn’t? And above all, do our models like the collection? 

After a big day, we have a moment to do some small chnages, so that the collection can be put into production, so that in some time it can be on our warehouse shelves and then in the wardrobes of your kids!

Ohh, we can't wait to show you our new collection ... Or maybe you can already guess something after what we showed you here??

And then what? We literally take a tiny break, so we can focus on the next collection and relive it all over again ...
